At StepStone Strategies, we believe that churches flourish when leadership and administration are prioritized. As a consulting firm specializing in organizational transformation and effectiveness, we cultivate inspired leaders, foster thriving teams, and help organizations reach their full potential.

Our work is rooted in evidence-based practices, deep listening, and a collaborative approach that honors the unique identity and aspirations of each organization.

Our Founder

Several years ago, I was serving on my church's Human Resources team when we hired an outside consultant to assess the health of staff culture and HR team practices. While the consultant did a good job, I recognized several areas where he did not fully care for the soul of the organization and could have better equipped leaders to execute his recommendations after he left. I thought to myself, "This is work that I do every day, and I have deeper experience with churches than he does. I could do this better!" That's when the seeds for a new vocation and StepStone Strategies were planted. 

I am excited today to live into that calling and serve the Church with my gifts. I look forward to seeing how we can grow together.

Laila Luopa’s deep understanding and care for Church culture comes from her upbringing as a minister’s daughter as well as from the variety of roles she has held within the church, including a Human Resource Committee member, chair of search teams, choir member, and more.


Laila has spent 15+ years working with all types of organizations to help them make changes and work more effectively to achieve their visions. She partners with leaders to transform organizations by helping them run effectively, by fostering successful teams, and by cultivating inspired leadership.
